BORN UP PURE DESIGNER TO BE THE BEST , JAMES WIJAYA AND HIS CREATION, THE METAPHOR ARE BRINGING METAPHOR TO REALIZATION

The ambitious James Wijaya who is graduate from University of Southern California with a degree in Architecture & Business Administration in 1998 has struck gold when emerged as the creator of The Metaphor. ItIt was in 2003, the ideas in James Wijaya’s head formed into the corporation of fine taste in art, the art of interior architecture and design. The Metaphor specializes in retail, commercial, restaurant, hospitality and office design, retaining the title of a brand for the future with their ahead-of-time designs, so much contemporary and modernistic which can be seen in every of their products.

Hard work of the whole team and also the creativity make The Metaphor so successful in the quest of educating Indonesian and for that matter, Singaporean to a more refined taste in constructing a well groomed room or an entire hotel, office or a bar and restaurant. Their list of clients is extraordinarily abundant, just mention names like, Ascott International, Grillbox, Sticky, Sommerset, Zhuma, Café Regal and Fish & Co., among many others. One thing they all have in common, Metaphor designs are their insignias. In Fish & Co., The Metaphor uses a combination of brown wood for the panels and walls, the use of water rings as the ornaments suggests a maritime theme and also the existence of wooden chairs that look like lifeguard posts, really furthered the themeto full effect. In Fresca Restaurant in the neighboring country of Malaysia, James Wijaya plays on a combination of sophistication and urbanism. On the outside, a façade of sophisticated restaurant but when viewed from the inside, the cool and hip underground feel with the use of exposed red bricks make diners feel at ease. In Best Western Hotel in Semarang, Central Java, sophistication in contemporary is once more added and The Metaphor executes that ideology exquisitely, the juxtaposition of bright crème color and dark brown with black panels for segregation really add classy and elegant touches to the hotel and not to mention, the yellow color lamps that brazen the word elegance. Clients are satisfied with their works, awards have been coming from left to right, it is safe to say that James Wijaya and The Metaphor have achieved significant level in their lives and the sky is the limit for them as the journey ahead is still far and full of turbulence, but rest assured, with the strive to fulfill every of their clients needs, The Metaphor will knock off all challenges and come out, on top.
