Seroeni @ Plaza Senayan, Jakarta
Inspired by the name itself, this design focuses on the beauty and the soft, color palette of the flower. Hand cut panels in the inspired form of the flower wraps the Peranakan style interior. Dominated by shutter screens and timber paneling, the design character reflects on the 60’s period time in South East Asia, where intermarriages between the Malays and Chinese, this creating the Peranakan. With light beige as the dominant tone for the materials, light blue is introduced into the mix to soften the overall look. The furniture reflects both Chinese inspired style chairs and the bench style seating, used by many hawkers at that time.
